What
is
mindfulness?

Mindfulness is being fully aware of all sensations here and now. When we are fully present without judgement or ibecoming distracted we are allowing thoughts, feeling and emotions to more easily arise and pass away of their own accord without becoming involved in the story. Through meditation practice and therefore training this awareness we can become far more durable, less anxious or reactive and find calm in the midst of a busy overthinking mind.

Why
Meditate?

Meditation is the practice we can use to cultivate a awakened life and allow more clarity and presence. By becoming aware of the breath, physical sensations and thoughts, we can learn to meet whatever arises without judgement. That doesn’t mean we will always ‘feel better’ when meditating, but we can learn to recognise negaitve experiences and become less reactive to them. The more we practice in this way, the more able we are to face challenging or stressful situations with calm and composure.
